(Re)using and (Re)mixing Multimodal Texts
Is it human nature to divide everything into binaries?
Production/consumption, old literacies/new literacies, reading/writing… so often, we approach these as if they are entirely separate entities. In reality, they’re far more dialectical. (How could they *not* be?)
As someone who studies literacy and digital media, I’m interested in how children and adolescents (re)use and (re)mix multimodal texts. This blog functions as a venue for me to reflect on current research in the field, highlight interesting trends in literacy learning and digital media production, and synthesize my dissertation research.
Or at least, those are my intentions. I’m optimistic like that.
